Pewsey travelled to Hungerford with a full squad for their second league game of the year, having lost the previous two to Swindon 2nds and Calne, largely due to a shortage of players.
Within 10 minutes, Pewsey inside centre Mike Rokobuli spotted a gap, slipped the Hungerford defence and shipped the ball on to Paul Pike. Outside centre Adam Stevens picked up on the loop, and broke through two defenders five metres out to score the first points.
Not to be out-done, Hungerford responded first with their centre cutting back towards the scrum and scoring to the right side of the posts and a further try down the right wing just before half time left the side 12-5 in the home side's favour at half-time.
Hungerford opened the second half in a similar vein to the first with an almost identical score from their centre.
The score remained at 17-5 until 10 minutes from the end, when Adam Stevens opened up the Hungerford defence with a great display of strong running to score his second try under the posts.
Pewsey applied further pressure, flanker Mike Brakespear slipped out of the loose play and made 20 metres before Adam Stevens took the ball on and set up wing Ollie Spence for a score in the corner.
With only minutes to go, and the scores tied at 17-17, Dave Williamson who drove strongly up the field, and linked with the backs, which resulted in a final score and conversion under the posts for replacement centre Revoni Lotana.
Pewsey take on league leaders Corsham at home this Saturday.
