I have read in the Gazette that Kennet District Council seems to have ignored local opinion over car parking charges in the Market Place, and Mr Brad Fleet's statement implies he knows something the public do not if he believes that the Gillespies report has no relevance to the Market Place (e.g. what about access?)

I would remind organisations, companies and individuals that they can use the new Freedom of Information Act whereby we all have the right to see information held by public bodies which is intended to enable us to find out why decisions are made.

If Kennet District Council hides behind confidentiality it is possible to appeal to the Information Commissioner if the release is in the greater public interest than the public interest in withholding it.
