Skurrays has always been a name which is synonymous with good cars in Swindon. So it was not surprising that they were chosen by Saab to sell their cars a double first for quality.

And Skurrays don't mess around.

They built a brand new showroom costing around £500,000 and the business opened last week with a flourish.

It is a significant investment and the Saab dealership has been revitalised with the stylish and modern showroom.

The huge investment made by Skurrays has elevated them to Saab's prestigious 'Unlimited Status' that offers the customer a new experience in buying new and used Saabs.

Andrew Parrott, dealer principal at Skurrays Saab, said: "We are all very excited about acquiring this status.

"Visitors to our new showroom will experience the whole Saab brand, which is reflected in the modern, light and relaxing Scandinavian atmosphere.

"The new showroom moves us away from the mass marketing techniques adopted by many of the other premium car makers.

"As a result we now offer our customers a bespoke service focusing on individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all package of services.

"We look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers," added Andrew.

The stylish and atmospheric flavour of the new showroom was inspired by Saab's aircraft heritage and the Scandinavian design ethic.

Swedish design has always been renowned for being simple and dynamic this is reflected by the understated but classically engineered range of Saab vehicles.

And it's not strange at all that one of the customers at Thursday's opening last week saw what he liked and came in the following day to buy one of the top models.

Saab have always had a great reputation for being safe, solid and reliable. Now they have that little more power and good looks.

Last year 2004 was a hugely successful year for Saab in the UK.

They achieved a record sales figures of 20,294 cars which was the highest in the marque's history since sales began in October 1960 some 45 years ago.

In fact Saab's UK sales for December closed at 1,505 cars.

This was 52 per cent higher than the same month in 2003, resulting in a full-on-year sales growth of 39 per cent.

This has ensured Saab has maintained its status as the fastest growing premium brand in the UK car market.

It is becoming increasingly popular with the award winning 9-3 convertible outselling old rivals Audi and BMW.

Andrew added: "With more cars on the road than ever before there is a real buzz about Saab at the moment reflected by the national sales figures and our decision to develop the showroom. We are delighted to be involved with Saab at such an exciting time."
