BUDDING bards in Warminster are to have their poems published after success in a national competition.
Year five pupils at St George's School will see their work published in a Wiltshire volume of a poetry anthology.
The poems, which all had an autumn theme, will now go on to the finals of the Once Upon a Rhyme competition, which could earn the school £1,000.
Class teacher, Angela Moore, said: "Encouraging children to write poems and to read those written by their peers, as well as by well-known poets, brings the poetry to life and demonstrates its value as a powerful means of expression.
"We have been doing this for a few years and this is the first time we have got this far."
