A TROWBRIDGE woman appeared in court after ignoring orders to stop blasting neighbours with loud music.
Lorraine Gardener, of Westfield Road, admitted three charges of failing to comply with noise abatement notices served by West Wiltshire District Council.
Kate Bishop, the council principal environmental health officer, said: "This hearing was the culmination of a long-running investigation against Ms Gardner, who repeatedly played loud music with no regard for neighbours.
"We made every effort to resolve the issue without having to go to court, but we were left with no choice but to prosecute."
Ms Gardner received numerous verbal and written warnings and was served with noise abatements notices in September 2003.
The problem continued and council environmental health offices seized hi-fis, speakers, televisions and CDs in June 2004.
Magistrates ordered most of the goods should be permanently confiscated.
Ms Gardner was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £320.
Cllr Richard Wiltshire, the council's environmental services portfolio holder, said: "Excessive noise can ruin people's quality of life."
