TSUNAMI AID: BUCKET loads of help for the victims of the tsunami disaster has been provided by children at a Trowbridge primary school.
Pupils at Grove School were so moved by the plight of children left without adequate food or drinking water they came up with an inspired way of helping them.
The children decided they would create a water balance by filling a bucket with water then collecting enough coins to fill another bucket to balance the scale.
Headteacher Paul Berry said: "The children were clearly shocked by what happened, as we all were, and it seemed to centre around the children without food or drinking water.
"I think the children at the school are absolutely marvellous in the way they really get behind charities."
The children raised enough to balance three bucketfuls of coins and it was also decided to donate the proceeds of the school's Christmas concert to the appeal.
In total the pupils raised nearly £950, which will go directly to UNICEF in support of children affected by the disaster.
