THIEVES stole a car from a hospital car park in Trowbridge while the owners were at their seriously ill baby's bedside.

The mother gave birth at Trowbridge Hospital in November and the baby was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital with a heart problem.

The worried parents left their £3,000 Citron Xantia estate car in the car park this week they returned home to find it had gone.

A police spokesman said: "It has not been listed as an abandoned car so it looks as though it was stolen."
