STUDENTS at a Trowbridge school are to help educate younger pupils about the dangers of drink and drugs.
Seventeen youngsters at The Clarendon College have completed a three-day course on peer drug education training, learning about drug use and misuse and how to present information on the dangers to others. The training was provided by The Early Interventions Partnership and funded by the Wiltshire Drug and Alcohol Action team.
The course was an addition to a programme of drug education run by the school.
The pupils who took part are working with year 7 students to give out clear messages about the consequences of drinking and drug taking.
The teenagers are also trained to become mentors to younger students who have concerns about drug related issues.
Early Interventions will continue working with the school over the next two terms.
