MICHAEL Wills, MP for North Swindon, has welcomed the news that Age Concern in Swindon is to receive £45,000 in Government funding to make sure pensioners are getting the benefits they are entitled to.
The MP said: "The Government has allocated Age Concern Swindon £45,000 as part of the Pension Service Partnership Fund, which provides funding to charities to run local campaigns that encourage pensioners to claim the benefits they're entitled to.
"The one-year contract is due to start in May 2005. The Government is spending an extra £10 billion on pensioners this year and I am pleased that Age Concern will be working to ensure local pensioners receive all the support they are entitled to."
