THREE Swindon charities are in line to benefit when the town mayor hands out £3,000.
Swindon Mayor Coun Peter Stoddart will present cheques to Swindon Down Syndrome Group, Swindon Carers and Swindon Pathfinders on February 8.
The money was donated by the people of Swindon during the Round Table Christmas sleigh collections.
Each year for more than 40 years, the Round Table has had a sleigh with Father Christmas in the centre of Swindon, every Saturday in December.
Steve Griffin, chairman of Highworth and Swindon Round Table, said: "I would like to thank all those people who gave so generously during our various fundraising events before Christmas.
"We only support local groups and organisations, and I think it is important that local people know all their donations are spent in and around the Swindon area."
Swindon's Round Table is a club for men aged between 18 and 45. Formed in 1927, it now has nearly 800 local clubs and 15,000 members nationally.
