ALL of us at the two Swindon Oxfam shops would like to let our supporters know just how much they contributed to the Disasters Emergency Committee Appeal for the tsunami victims.
Between December 29 and January 15, in sums ranging from a few pence in the donation box to cheques for several hundred pounds, we collected £17,897 for this appeal, a quite staggering amount.
In addition, we have received a huge quantity of goods which will be sold in the shop to raise funds to enable Oxfam to continue its work in the areas affected by this disaster.
Although the DEC appeal is now closed, Oxfam is running its own appeal for cash, so if people still wish to give we can assure you that your money will be well spent to give hope to the thousands still suffering in Asia.
