TODAY tributes continue to be paid to Australian Flt Lt Paul Pardoel, who was the first victim of the crash named.

And children and teachers at St Joseph's RC Primary School in Malmesbury, where two of Flt Lt Pardoel's children will be attending a mass tomorrow at St Aldhelm's church in his memory.

His parents, John and Margaret, talking from Melbourne, described their son as a "fine young man".

His father said his son died doing "what he enjoyed doing" while his mother described him as a "happy and popular person."

Headteacher at St Joseph's, Kim Parnell, sent a letter to all parents informing them that the father of seven-year-old Jordan, Jackson, five, and India, two, had died.

She said: "At this difficult time our thoughts are with the families of all those affected by this tragedy.

"All of us at St Joesph's are doing everything we possibly can to provide a caring environment which will offer support to the whole community in what ever way possible."

Both of the children who attend the school were kept at home yesterday with mum Kellie after she was told the news.

Ms Parnell said: "Yesterday we sent all the children home on time. We ran no after-school clubs as many of the children were upset as were some of our younger staff.

"I have been in contact with Kellie, through a friend. She is devastated. Her and Paul were extremely close. We can only imagine how she feels at the moment."

Yesterday, a distraught Kellie spoke for the first time saying: "I can't really talk about it at the moment. It is far too early."
