Bassett 3rd went down 32-22 to Bradford on Avon 2nd in their latest Dorset and Wilts 2 North game.
The home side scored first with a converted try, closely followed by a penalty.
Bassett fly-half Phil Woodcock ghosted in under the posts on 20 minutes, and kicked the conversion.
Bradford finished the half the stronger when they ran in two unconverted tries to lead 20-7 at the break.
The second half saw Bradford cross for two more tries giving them a lead of 32-7.
Bassett hit back with tries from hooker Ted Edwards and Colin Mountford, and the last score of the game came from second row Danny Toon who sprinted over in the corner.
