Wootton Bassett's Reserves had an eye on next week's 2nd team cup
semi-final, after a 76-5 trashing of Old Sulians in their Merit Table
fixture on Saturday.
The 14-try spectacle of running rugby was characterised by incisive running and outstanding support play.
For all but 10 minutes either side of half time, Bassett were in complete control, and the result was assured. There were outstanding performances by second row Carl Britten (three tries), fly-half Pete Thornton (two tries, two conversions), full back Mark Trowbridge (two tries, one conversion), No 8 Matt McKee (try) and Colts scrum-half Charlie Jones (try).
The other points scorers were skipper Rob May (try), Tom Deitreich (two tries), Woody Briggs (try) and Ollie Krouwel (try).
