AUTHOR Herbert Girardet will talk about how cities can be improved for a sustainable world.
Urban growth is changing humanity and the face of the earth.
Half the world's population now live in cities, with most of the other half depending on them for economic survival.
Yet cities only exist on two per cent of the world's land surface, and use 75 per cent of the world's resources and discharge similar amounts of waste.
The free talk is aimed at addressing urbanisation and argues for a different approach.
The talk is on Wednesday, February 16 at the University of Bath in Swindon, 5.30-6.30pm.
