THE Government's controversial plans for reforming mental health law are currently being scrutinised by a Parliamentary committee.

The Mental Health Alliance a coalition of over 60 organisations is encouraging everybody to lobby their member of Parliament. This lobbying initiative began with a rally in Westminster.

After that event the focus turns to constituency campaigning and the MHA is looking for people to organise local meetings.

The draft Mental Health Bill contains plans to extend compulsory treatment into the community and could make it easier for those experiencing a mental illness to be given forced treatment, and drive people who need help away from the services they need.
