SUNDAY'S Danny Bohane Memorial match on Devizes AC's Kennet and Avon stretches raised over £300 for Danny's children but was largely disappointing because of the lack of skimmer bream caught.
Devizes anglers, who are very prominent on the canal this season took home a majority of the spoils, including the top three Individuals.
Top angler was Mick Gale, who led a strong field home with his 8-15-0 bag, ahead of Brian Haigh 8-6-8, G Pearce 5-8-0 and Mick O'Brien (Cotswold) 5-5-0 was fourth.
Sections 15 anglers in each: a) 1 John Williams 3-2-0, 2 Paul Senior 2-9-0, b) 1 Kevin Rowles 5-4-0, 2 Kevin Abigail 4-12-0. c) 1 N Baker 4-1-0, 2 Kevin Bamford 3-14-0. d) 1 Richard Stephens 5-3-8, 2 Alan Brown 4-10-0.

With time running out his quiver tip pulled around and after a long struggle he landed a fabulous 20-12-0 carp taken on double pinkie a size 20 hook in conjunction with a feeder with 6lb b strain line.
