75880-28VANDALS have smashed a window in a shopping parade plagued by anti-social behaviour.

The window at Ladbrokes betting shop in Clive Parade, Pinehurst, was smashed last night.

Manager Carol Waugh said: "It will cost £600 to replace, but will be open as normal today."

Windows have been smashed on two previous occasions.

On Monday, the Adver reported how Clive Parade had become a meeting point for yobs.

Shop staff say many pensioners are now too scared to shop there after dark.

Youths have been hurling abuse at shoppers and shop staff have been attacked.

Last week, a car was tipped over in the car park.

Police are cracking down on the troublemakers with a new dispersal order currently being prepared for the area.

It will cover Pinehurst's trouble hotspots Clive Parade, the Circle, Claremont Court and the green near Hawthorn Avenue.

Officers will have the power to order gangs of yobs to disperse or face arrest.

Anyone with information about the window should call Swindon police on 01793 528111.
