IN response to Mr J E Plumtree's letter about our kitchen tap. I was very impressed to read Mr Plumtree's plumbers' terminology, although I think he was distracting us from the main point.
When I initially telephoned the council services reporting there was a leak under my kitchen sink, caused by the tap becoming loose, it should have been apparent to anyone who took the call, that we required a plumber. Even I knew that!
Anyway a plumber should have been sent, and been able to replace the tap. It takes one plumber to replace a tap not four men, numerous phone calls and a report in the local newspaper.
Incidentally since the tap was fixed I have received a further two phone calls from the council asking if they can come out and fix the already fixed tap. I have also received one letter stating my already fixed tap would be fixed by March 23 and another letter arrived this morning saying the tap would be fixed on February 10.
Anybody who thinks this is good value for our council tax must be from another planet.
