15276/1GAZETTE & HERALD: TRIPLET calves have been named after their young owners at a farm in Chippenham.
Beryl the cow surprised the Garraway family when she gave birth to the triplets last Thursday evening.
Richard, 49 and Landine, 41, of Melbourne Farm, Patterdown named the two boys and a girl after their own children, daughter Katie, 11 and twins Henry and George, seven.
Mr Garraway said: "It's quite rare to have triplets. In 37 years we've never had it before and the vet had only seen it once in his career. My parents, who still live on the farm, have never seen it and they are in their eighties."
Mrs Garraway said the calves are healthy and strong for triplets.
A clerk at Chippenham cattle market, Mrs Garraway was there on its last day on Thursday. She said: "It's a happy ending to a sad day."
