GAZETTE & HERALD: PREGNANT pub landlady Emma Green who was mugged in the car park where she works has said she wants to put it all behind her.
The mother-to-be was shoved from behind and robbed of £3,000 as she was getting into her car at The Kingfisher, on Hungerdown Lane, Chippenham.
At 11 weeks pregnant with her first child she immediately feared for the health of her baby. After the attack she suffered pains in her stomach but she went to Chippenham hospital and they told her to rest.
"I'm trying to get on with everything and put it behind me," Miss Green said.
Miss Green, 24, who runs the Wadworth-owned pub with her fianc Alan Wright, 27, was getting into her Jeep just before 5pm last Tuesday when she was pushed across the front seats and her handbag was grabbed from her grasp.
She was on her way to the bank to deposit the week's takings and had more than £3,000 on her as well as her mobile phone and wallet.
"I didn't see him at all, just the back of him. I was just shocked. I didn't realise what was actually happening until I felt my handbag being pulled from my hand," she explained.
Just a week after the attack, Miss Green said she still pays in the pub's takings but Mr Wright goes with her now. "Alan has been brilliant and very supportive," she said. "I still do it but I don't want to go on my own just yet."
Wadworth is putting the pub to tenancy so the couple will be leaving The Kingfisher next Sunday to go to a pub in Walsall in the West Midlands.
