PEOPLE who receive home care and meals on wheels are to face a rise in what they pay by two per cent. Wiltshire County Council's Cabinet agreed the increases which will come into effect in April.
For a person who pays for home care provided by the county council the charge will rise from £8.05 to £8.25 an hour on weekdays and from £10.35 to £10.55 at weekends.
There are 375 users who make a financial contribution towards their care and 36 of these are assessed to pay the maximum charge.
The actual cost to the council of providing home care is £15.20 per hour.
Other increases will see meals on wheels rise from £2.25 to £2.30 per meal and transport to and from a day centre from £2.10 per day to £2.15 per day.
The council anticipates receiving an extra £13,000 from the increases to meals on wheels and other charges and an additional £7,000 from the rise in providing home care.
