GAZETTE & HERALD: UP and coming internationally recognised duo Pei-Chun Liao and Sergio Alvarez will be performing on Sunday at Marden House in Calne as part of its seventh recital series.
Pianist Ms Liao from Taiwan and oboist Mr Alvarez from Spain met while studying together at Birmingham Conservatoire although both have continued their studies elsewhere.
Ms Liao first gained recognition in the Taipei International Chopin Competition and the Taiwan Young Artist Competition and recently found success at the Mauro Paolo Monopoli International Piano Competition in Italy.
Mr Alvarez is a freelance oboist playing with orchestras from Valencia through Munich to the Midlands Chamber Orchestra in Britain.
Marden House Recital Series committee member Tim Brown said: "Each year the Recital Series includes a concert featuring young, up-and-coming musicians several of whom, such as the soprano Ailish Tynan, the pianist David Quigley and the harpist Katrin Finch, have since embarked on extremely successful careers."
The performance at Marden House on New Road starts at 3pm on Sunday.
