ANDY KING remains firmly in the County Ground driving seat although Mike Walsh, pictured, is no longer there to ride shotgun.
The Town boss has also made it crystal clear that he is not interested in a director of football role and nor is he happy about the speculation which has linked old pal Mick Harford with the manager's role.
Harford is currently reaching a settlement with Nottingham Forest following his recent dismissal, meaning any talk of him joining King at this stage is irrelevant.
King stressed that Walsh's departure yesterday was an amicable arrangement and that Ian Woan and Alan Reeves will take on greater coaching roles for now.
The Town boss is adamant that he would have to lead the club down into the depths of despair before he would consider quitting the job he treasures.
King stresses that the directors are the only people who will give him the push.
As for director of football titles, forget it.
He said: "I'm not moving sideways for anyone."
Answering the Harford speculation, King said: "Mick is currently settling with Nottingham Forest and there's nothing he can do.
"My mum called to tell me she'd heard I'm director of football and Mick Harford's manager.
" It's a load of rubbish."
