TROWBRIDGE Town midfielder Andy Bloodworth is enjoying life as an underdog after knowing all about the pressures of high expectations.

Ahead of a challenging next seven days that will see the Bees continue their assault on three fronts, Bloodworth insists he and his team mates are not expecting to win anything.

Town entertain Adderbury Park tomorrow in Hellenic League Division One before travelling to Almondsbury for the Floodlight Cup semi- final second leg on Wednesday, with the score so far at 0-0.

The following Saturday they will continue their defence of the Wiltshire Senior Cup with a quarter-final tie at Devizes, but Bloodworth is just taking it one game at a time.

He said: "It is a big couple of weeks for us but to be honest with you I don't think we have got that much to lose.

"We have got ourselves in a good position in the league, but we are still not expecting to win it, while Almondsbury and Devizes are the favourites in the two cup ties.

"It is very nice to be the underdogs for a change because in previous seasons we have been expected to win the league and it does put a lot of pressure on you."

Bloodworth believes a top three spot in the league would be an achievement this season and looks on the two cups as a bonus.

"It was all a bit of an unknown this season," he said. "We did not know how we would fare but I think after starting so well we would be disappointed if we did not finish in the top three. I am looking forward to the two cups but I am not worried about them because they would just be a nice extra."

Despite his caution, the midfielder admits in Matt Cooper, Dave Percival and Dave Mitchell, Trowbridge have the firepower to beat anyone.

He said: "Mitch is very strong and brings a lot while Perce is quick and is a prolific scorer. Then we have Coops and he is a mixture of the two so we have a very nice blend up front."
