On behalf of the Friends of the Hilperton Gap (FOHG), I would like to thank the hundreds who supported our opposition to the road at last Friday's meeting.
Widespread support from elected representatives and residents showed the overwhelming opposition to the planning application.
The committee's deferral of a decision, gives the opportunity to look at viable solutions to the traffic issues on the East side of Trowbridge and the FOHG will support this.
Can I also thank your readers for their support against my exclusion from the meeting, some of which were published in last week's edition.
The draconian measures set by the Standards Board for England have been criticised by the Standing Committee in Public Life, who are recommending changes.
Can I ask all people who are concerned about this to make their feelings know to their local councillors. I will be seeking support from fellow councillors to drive changes to the ridiculous situation many us are being put in.
Cllr S Oldrieve
Trowbridge
