16507THE mayor of Trowbridge opened up her home in aid of charity at the weekend. Cllr Grace Hill held a second-hand clothes sale on Saturday to raise money for her chosen mayoral charities, The Hope Nature Centre and Stepping Stones.
She said: "We had some lovely clothes. There were some things that had never been worn, and others that had hardly been worn.
"Some people couldn't make it on the day so I still have clothes hanging around everywhere for them to come and look at."
People also brought along homemade cakes and members of the Trowbridge Lions Ladies Club spent the day in the kitchen, serving up refreshments to shoppers.
Those cakes that weren't served up to visitors were then sold and added to the profits.
