Cricklade Town warmed up for next week's Wilts Senior Cup clash with Highworth by beating visitors Shrewton Reserves 5-1, thanks to a rousing second-half display.
The home side started well and were soon a goal up but United came back into the game and levelled the scores before the break.
Cricklade boss Graham Jackson said: "The lads had a bit of a roasting during the interval and played much better in the second half."
Ian Ross was again on target with a brace with further goals from Martin Swaddon, Adam Smith and Matt Charlton.
New College's title hopes received a further set back when they were surpringly beaten 1-0 on their own ground by Melksham.
The young College side had the edge in the first half and continued on top in the second period but midway through the half a cracking free-kick by Melksham's Matt Taylor flashed into the net for the only goal of the game.
A hat-trick from 16-year-old Tom Slater gave Bromham a 3-0 away win over AFC Stratton. The youngster scored twice in a 20-minute spell in the first half and completed his treble with a strike 15 minutes into the second half. Purton Reserves, at home to league leaders Corsham, couldn't have got off to a worse start, conceding a goal in the first minute from Adam Taylor.
For the rest of the half they held their own and competed well but in a disasterous second half James West scored a second, goalkeeper Dean Haines left the field with a back injury and with the subs already on, Purton played the rest of the half with 10 men conceding a further two goals from West and Tommy Bond.
Second-in-the-table Bradford Town fought out a seven goal thriller with Devizes eventually running out winners 4-3 thanks to goals from Steve Roddy 2, Robbie Simmonds and Peter Martin.
Calne gained a 1-0 success over visitors Westbury courtesy of a strike from Chris King.
Top match of the day in Junior One lived up to expectations with Westside and leaders Down Ampney sharing the points in a 3-3 draw. Westside fought back to share the spoils with goals from Dave Rendell (2) and John Webb.
The Blyskawica versus West Swindon game that ended in a 4-3 win for the visitors. Nolan Paul gave West Swindon an early lead with Tom Kopinski equalising. Strikes by Mark Bennett and two from Ryan Wheeler then took the visitors' lead to 4-1.
The home side then staged a late rally with goals from Gregg Saye and Peter Cahill to ensure a lively last 10 minutes.
Swindon Asians scored five without reply against Biddestone with goals from Kamal Miah (2), Gerry Wright, Alan Leng and Vince Elliott,all the goals coming in the second half and Stratton Rovers did likewise against Minety with Steve Townsend (2), Darren Kyle, Ashley Channing and James Townsend on target.
Lower Stratton and Cricklade Reserves shared the points in a 2-2 draw, Matt Cook and Brett Goodson for Stratton and Dave Cook and an own goal for the visitors.
Castle Combe remain unbeaten in Junior Two but were made to fight hard for their 8-5 victory by Dynamobury.

Leaders Abbey Rodbourne beat Westside Reserves 9-2. Paul Parsons (3), Kevin Brown (2), Barry Armstrong (2), Ian Curtis and Ricky Oliver the scorers.
Goals from Martin Williams (2), Gavin Baron, Danny Scotford and Johnny Coole gave Barron Heating a 5-2 win over Westlecott and Stratton Rovers Reserves defeated AFC Rodbourne by the same score Warren Fuller (3),Tony Fry and Bradley Clarke on target.
Pinehurst gained a 3-1 win at Bromham thanks to goals from Shawn Dodson, Steve Challinor and John Romain while County Ground beat Stratton St Margaret 4-0 with Gary Ashford and Dean Hughes amongst the goals.
Wroughton and AFC Stratton Reserves were level 2-2 after extra time in their Fountain Trophy tie with Stratton winning the penalty shoot-out 5-4, Martin Pope and Courtney Chessell on target for Stratton and Lee Curtis and James Pittuck for Wroughton.
