A MUM whose son found a postbag containing letters and parcels dumped in the street says Royal Mail only collected it after she got her local MP involved.
The Advertiser reported on Thursday how Jackie Roberts, 37, a child minder who is five months pregnant, was amazed when she contacted Royal Mail only be told to deliver the mail herself.
Jackie said: "I had to contact Michael Wills in the end and get him on to them because they wouldn't come and get it. It was three o'clock the next day before they bothered coming round."
Jackie was walking with her son, Jack, six, and Ayala Trinder, five, home from Abbey Meads Community Primary School when the children found the bag close to Jackie's house in Falconer Mews.
After contacting Mr Wills, Labour MP for North Swindon, the mail was collected. "It's terrible the only reason they came was because Mr Wills got in touch," Jackie said.
