Ref. 75959-03An iguana being looked after at a Swindon animal haven needs a new home.
The 2ft male called Draco is the most exotic creature living at the Swindon and District Animal Haven in Wootton Bassett.
But John Warwick, who runs the haven. believes Draco would make the perfect family pet.
He said: "Iguanas are not any real problem to look after. You can take them out of their tank and let them walk around the house and you can take them out into the garden to play when it's sunny.
"You can even put them on a lead and take them for a walk if you want.
"They eat fruit and vegetables mainly."
Draco was left at the haven by a woman who lived in Walcot but has moved up north for a new job and was going to live in rented accommodation so couldn't have pets with her.
John said: "We've had him for about two weeks now and the lady had him for a year, since he was a baby really, so it was a shame she had to leave him here.
"Hopefully we should be able to find him a good new home though."
John also has his hands full with a delivery of 26 Degus rodents which are a cross between a rat and a gerbil.
"They are nice, friendly animals and are good fun to watch.
"They are like a gerbil but bigger, and better than a rat because they don't bite.
"These ones are quite young so they will have to get used to being handled."
The animal haven is always looking for people to give new homes to animals and can be contacted at on 07990 868 887.
