THE public are invited to help plant about 2,000 trees in Purton Wood on March 5.
The event, which starts at 10am, is being organised by the Great Western Community Forest which covers 168sq miles, including Lechlade, Wootton Bassett and Faringdon.
Over the past decade, more than one million trees have been planted by the initiative.
And it's estimated 250,000 schoolchildren have been involved in some of the key decisions.
