SMASH-and-grab car raiders are targeting Gorse Hill.
Motorists are being warned to be vigilant and the police are appealing for help in catching the culprits.
Ten vehicles were hit in the early hours on Sunday morning.
All the cars that were raided were parked in Cricklade Road and Malvern Road.
Bizarrely, the thieves only took loose change from the vehicles they broke in to, leaving stereos, CDs and other valuables behind. In some cases nothing was taken.
WPC Chloe Burke, of Swindon police, is investigating the theft.
She said: "We're linking these because the offenders used the same pattern of entry."
"The windows were either smashed or the door locks forced. All vehicles were searched and any loose change was taken.
"These were not great amounts, just money left for parking."
But WPC Burke said it would still cause misery for the owners.
She said: "It's quite upsetting having your car broken into and there is also the inconvenience and expense.
"The owners will have to get their doors and windows fixed."
No witnesses have come forward, and WPC Burke has appealed for help to crackdown on the thieves.
"We need to catch whoever did this and anyone who saw or heard anything that may help should contact us. We're also urging motorists to be vigilant. Make use car alarms, make sure valuables and cash are not left on display and lock vehicles at all times."
In the autumn, the Adver launched the Clear Your Car campaign with the police.
Poster were put up across town warning of the dangers of leaving valuables on show.
Drivers should use car parks rather than residential streets, park in well lit areas and ensure cars are locked even for a short while.
