DOZENS of new trees have been planted across north Wiltshire to replace ones that have been cut down.
Groundsmen at Westlea Housing Association planted the trees at Redland in Chippenham, Cricklade and Bushton.
The trees at Redland are in addition to the neighbourhood enhancement programme. Westlea has granted £7,000 towards a plan that will make the area around Redland shops safer and more attractive to residents and discourage anti social behaviour.
Maintenance leader Tim Hill said: "We have to remove trees that are causing damage to buildings as well as those with dead wood."
