FURIOUS businesses and car owners have condemned council plans to send the cost of all-day parking in Salisbury rocketing to £5 - an increase of 39 per cent.
The park-and-ride service will go up by 70p from £1.50 to £2.20 and season ticket holders will see prices rise by 37 per cent, making a 12-month permit £1,000.
If the price hike is approved by the full district council when it meets on February 21, the new charges will be introduced in May to coincide with the opening of the Britford park-and-ride site.
