CORSHAM midfielder Jamie Lyons is willing to wait for his chance to break into the first team after rejecting a move to his old club Biddestone.

Lyons, who got through to the final stage of the England Schoolboy trials, has been a frustrated figure this season at The Southbank, only making cameo appearances from the bench.

The 18-year-old admits he was tempted to be reunited with his old manager Gary Skidmore but is happy to wait for his opportunity with the Screwfix Premier League outfit who are gunning for the title.

The tricky midfielder, who was a regular starter for Biddestone last season, said: "Nobby (Colin Bush) told me I'm one for the future and I will get my chance soon.

"It would have been nice to go back to Biddestone but I feel I still have something to offer Corsham."

After making the switch to Corsham in the summer, the left sided player insists he is settled despite not being able to break into starting 11.

Lyons said: "I am being kept out of the team by experienced player Frank Coleman, so I'm not that upset as he is a quality midfielder.

"When a team goes unbeaten in 14 games you don't expect the manager to replace any of the winning players."

Bush has also made two seven day approaches for strikers Matt Bennett of Wootton Bassett and Dave Lloyd from Devizes.

Lloyd is still waiting to be contacted by the Premier Division high flyers and has made no decision about his future.

Ex-Wootton Bassett manager and current board member Peter Yeardley believes the prolific Bennett will stay at the club.

He brought the 18-year-old to Bassett and said he will be surprised if the youngster leaves.

Hellenic side Fairford, and Devizes Town have already tried to prise the Wiltshire U18 star away from Bassett, even though Bennett has not made a decision Yeardley is certain the youngster will be loyal to his current club.

Unfortunately for Skidmore, ex-Biddestone striker John O'Meara has also turned down a return to his old club.

O'Meara waited to see what was happening at Melksham before he made his decision.

He had a chat with his new manager Lee Burns and was told that he is in the player-manager's plans.

He said: "I was tempted to go back to Biddestone as a lot of my mates play there but I want to fight for my place here."
