GAZETTE & HERALD: CALNE Players will be bringing all the fun and laughter of a pantomime to the town next week with their performance of Cinderella.

As it was the group's very first pantomime, the show is called Cinderella Revisited, and is the 10th pantomime the group have performed in their 11-year existence. It will be shown at the John Bentley School.

Director and choreographer, Tabby Dawson, 18, said: "The rehearsals are going really well. We are doing better than we expected.

"This year we have a funny script, good characters and are enjoying it."

Miss Dawson said any profit raised from the event, which costs £2,000 to stage, would go to charity.

"There's going to be lots of singing along and laughter," she said.

Calne Players is a 30 strong amateur dramatic group and the cast are aged from seven to 60 years old. They are all from the Calne area.

Shows take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 16, Thursday, February 17 and Saturday, February 19 with a performance at 5.30pm on Friday, February 18.

Tickets cost £3.50 for adults, £2.50 for children or concessions and £10 for a family ticket of two adults and two children are on sale at Trotmans, Expressions, The Patch of Blue and Bank House in Calne.
