ENTRY is now open for the Kennet Kanter, the first organised long-distance run in Devizes for at least ten years.
Kennet District Council's visitor centre in the Market Place is hosting the event, which will take place on Sunday, July 3.
The ten-mile trail run around the town, including a length of the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal, will set off at 11am from the Green, where a family fun day is being organised to coincide with the event.
The run is in aid of the British Heart Foundation and is being sponsored by a number of businesses in and around Devizes. Devizes Leisure Centre is supporting the event with the use of facilities such as changing rooms, showers and car parking.
Trophies will be awarded for men, women and teams. All finishers will receive medals. It is also hoped to organise a four-mile fun run on the same day. Application forms are available from Devizes Visitor Centre. Information on www.kennetkanter.co.uk
