Ref. 75979-84A GROUP of European teachers has paid a visit to a Swindon school to exchange ideas on education.
Teachers from Italy and Finland have been in town all week to see Grange Junior School in action.
The Stratton St Margaret school is now in the third year of a Comenius schools' project, funded by the British Council and European Union.
Headteacher Christine Parkyn said: "We had a very successful visit. The children had an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about different cultures.
"It's an on-going project that has widened the children's understanding of different cultures and given them an opportunity to build up links with people in other countries."
Two teachers from Kajaani, in Finland, and two from Osimo, in Italy, enjoyed their visit.
The children presented a concert, which included songs, dance, instrumental pieces and performance poetry.
The guests also spoke to the children and staff about their schools and cultures.
During their stay the teachers, who fly home tomorrow, have visited Swindon's Steam Museum, Corinium Museum in Cirencester and Stratford-upon-Avon. Ms Parkyn said: "They enjoyed their visit and got the chance to take part in some typically British entertainment, including a game of skittles."
