GAZETTE & HERALD: A fun quiz night has been organised by the Melksham, Chippenham and Calne branch of the Wilts and Berks Canal Trust in a bid to raise vital funds for the restoration of the former waterway.
The event will take place at the Rachel Fowler Centre, off Market Place, Melksham, on Monday, February 21, from 7.30pm.
Funds raised will go towards the ongoing restoration of the former Wilts and Berks Canal from the Kennet and Avon Canal in the south to the Thames and Severn Canal and the River Thames in the north, connecting Melksham, Chippenham, Calne, Swindon, Wootton Bassett and Swindon.
Diana Hunter, of Steeple Ashton, said: "Last year's quiz night was hugely popular and enjoyed by everyone who took part a knowledge of canals is never required."
Entry costs £10 per team, with a maximum of four people per team. There will also be refreshments and a raffle. Entry forms and details are available from Diana Hunter on (01380) 871522. Entries close on Monday.
