'SCORE one for me Lee' is Andy King's message to his prolific England youngster ahead of Barnsley's visit to the County Ground tomorrow.
Left winger Lee Holmes, pictured, netted his country's goal on Wednesday night as the Under 19s drew 1-1 in Belgium.
The 17-year-old has scored four goals in his last five England appearances and the Town manager is hoping some of that international magic will now rub off domestically.
King, who survived a recall scare surrounding Holmes earlier this week, is looking for the teenager to help Sam Parkin and Grant Smith in the goal stakes.
Holmes looks certain to start against Barnsley after being rested for the win at Oldham Athletic.
However, the Town boss revealed that he had been perilously close to losing his young loan star 48 hours ago.
King said: "We had a fright as Derby County were calling him back.
"I spoke to George Burley on Thursday morning though and the conversation was along the lines that if I play Lee on Saturday then he might leave him here as it's more beneficial to the lad to play league games.
"I've taken that on board. George said if he was going to be on our bench, then he may as well be on Derby's bench, as he hasn't got players there.
"That's one choice I may have to make as I want to keep the kid.
"If I've got to play him to keep him then I'll have pick 10 around him."
As well as displaying his dazzling magic down the left, King hopes Holmes will choose the Barnsley game to open his Town account.
He said: "Lee is an attacking asset. The width and creation is there but I'd like a goal from him."
Holmes himself is buzzing after his midweek international exploits.
He admits a goal against Barnsley would cap an excellent few days.
He said: "I came through the Belgium match fine and it's always special to score for your country.
"I'm looking forward to the next game for Swindon now.
"Hopefully I can help the lads build on last week's win and maybe even get one myself. I've said before how I'm due a goal."
His goal for England was a free-kick so will he be demanding set-piece duties against the Tykes?
He said: "Grant Smith's been doing okay in that department so I don't think he'd take too kindly to me taking over."
