JEAN BIRD and Dave Snell open Westlecot's bid for glory on the national front today.
They will be competing in the last 32 of the National Mixed Pairs in Northampton.
The duo are very experienced at this level having reached this stage of the event several times before both indoors and outdoors.
In the first round they face Kathy Day and Roger Kendrick (Prince Arthur, Gillingham).
Bird and Snell will be joined on Sunday in Northampton by Wendy Anderson and Kevin Embling as they have also qualified for the last 32 in the National Mixed Fours.
They face Desborough (Maidenhead) in the first round.
Bird and Anderson are also through to the ladies national championship finals next month in Nottingham in the Over 50s Two Wood Triples with Joyce Laming while Anderson also competes in the Champion of Champions.
