TROWBRIDGE Wanderers will face Seend United, the side they conquered in the first round of the Knockout Cup, in the semi-final of this season's Pied Piper Promotions-sponsored A and B Cup.
Duncan Pugh's Division Three giantkillers fully deserved to avenge an earlier cup defeat by Division Two title chasers CS Filos to claim a third prize scalp of the season, thanks to Steve Coombes' dramatic last kick extra-time winner after Filos' boss Pete Davies had wiped out Ross Pugh's first half strike with five minutes of normal time remaining.
Seend, who will not relish another battle with the league minnows on their controversial pitch, booked their semi-final appearance by repeating their 3-1 second round victory of the week before.
But Barry Holloway's top flight outfit left it late, Aaron Richardson, Mark Newman and Wayne Bailey's free kick completing a fight back in the last 15 minutes after Bradford United had led at the break.
A pulsating Spring Cup semi-final is also in prospect between Division Three title rivals St Andrews and Rudloe Reserves, who gained 3-0 and 4-0 away successes.
Basement-side Castle Combe A, who conceded 15 goals in the league against Saints, showed a big improvement to restrict Kevin Gover's side, including four 15-year-olds, to goals from Nick Medin, Dave Greenwood and Ewan Maynard.
A brace from Luke Wolf and singles from Sam Bentley and Darren Wholeman clinched Rudloe their semi-final place at Bradford United Reserves.
The other semi-final is just as appetising with last season's semi-finalists Semington Magpies easing through 7-1 to a clash with either Lavington or Wanderers who meet tomorrow.
A hat-trick from Dan Rimmer, singles from Bobby Mitchell, Phil Woodward, Ricky King and an Adam Stevens' own goal from a Steve Rosling cross, beat The Stiffs whose consolation came just after the break from Nathan Litterick.
League giants North Bradley Saints and Broughton Gifford will resume battle tomorrow (kick-off 1.45pm) after the first of their three clashes this season produced a tense thriller, with Saints drawing first blood with a 3-0 win.
Two injury-time goals from Chris Fardell, who had supplied a 49th minute cross for Brent Murden to put Saints ahead, finally sank the champions who enjoyed the best of the first half but missed their chances. The hosts, however, deserved a point despite Saints battling superbly and will feel hard done by that at least one penalty did not go their way.
Saints' bid to become the first club to collect a hat-trick of league trophies was greatly boosted by current leaders Rudloe crashing to a shock 5-2 home defeat against Frome Town Sports, who were aided by some sloppy goalkeeping by the normally reliable Kevin Hodgkinson. Tom Smith's brace erased a two-goal Frome lead inflicted by Lee Dredge and Frank Alexander, who added another along with Damien Edwards and Paul Bendell.
Freshford United will have to travel well - seven of their last eight matches are away - if Hugh Fulton's men are to pull out of trouble.
United's mini-revival was abruptly ended despite brothers Dave and Mark Birleson extinguishing a Trevor Jones' double for Dynamo West End whose Simeon Mills capitalised on a late defensive error to clinch the former top flight leaders their first win in five league matches.
Trowbridge United, beaten by Freshford the previous week, jumped above their relegation rivals as first half goals from Mat Minnis and Leigh Burke earned a repeat of their 2-1 away win at Warminster Town Reserves, whose reply came from Gary Stanley.
The Division Two leadership changed hands for the fifth time, Steve Martin's Blue Circle returning to pole position on goal difference after a 4-0 revenge win toppled previous leaders The Deverills. Two own goals from Simon Dolbear crosses and strikes from Andy Craig and Luke Smith ended Circle's lean spell.
Hilperton remain in striking distance of the leaders following a 5-3 verdict over Broughton Gifford Reserves who wiped out Sami Bakali's opener to lead 2-1, only for Leigh Ovens to level before the interval. Recent signing Jerome Dyer struck twice for Hilperton either side of another Bakali effort.
A third successive victory for FC Northbridge has eased their relegation fears but the 3-1 win over Steeple Ashton, through a Matt Hall penalty, James Starr and Kye Leather, left the villagers still winless with half their season completed.
By picking up a point in a 2-2 draw at Westbury United A, Castle Combe Reserves left Ashton trailing by seven points at the bottom.
The sides, who could meet in the Division Two Cup final, shared the spoils after an own goal and a Matt Fry effort twice brought Westbury level from Marcus Young strikes for Combe, whose keeper excelled.
Martyn Cox almost produced both points for Bratton but his header was judged offside after Paul Smith and Dave Jones (penalty) had led a recovery in the final 10 minutes against The Lamb Inn, whose first half lead from Damien Hateley was extended by Mark Williams.
Lavington have opened up a two-point lead in Division Three, with ace marksman Myles Hickton making 10-man Hilperton United Reserves suffer with a second half hat-trick after opening the home account in the first minute.
Hilperton, who had Mark Campbell dismissed just before the break, found themselves level at half-time through Ian Baker. A Steve Meek penalty produced a second for the visitors who conceded another to Hickton's brother Oliver.
Two points from the last four games has damaged the promotion chances of Calne Eagles who were held to a third 2-2 stalemate of the afternoon by Bradford Town Reserves, who cancelled out Dan Thompson's early strike through Jason Harford and Charlie Heydon before Shaun Jefferies replied before the break.
Rowde Sports did their promotion aspirations no harm, Jamie Mullings striking his 14th and 15th goals of the campaign in the 2-1 league double over FC Chippenham. who took the lead through Joe Forrester.
