CARNIVAL fever was alive in Sutton Veny this week with schoolchildren enjoying a mix of music, costumes and dancing.
Pupils at Sutton Veny Primary School celebrated Shrove Tuesday with a Portuguese carnival day on Tuesday.
Teacher Patricia Granja, who is from Portugal, has been teaching at the school since the start of the year.
She has helped pupils learn the language, culture and history of the country and on Tuesday showed how the Portuguese celebrate.
"It is a very traditional day in Portugal," Miss Granja said.
"Everyone dressed up and looked really nice with their masks and costumes.
"I must thank the parents as many of the kids made their outfits at home.
"It was like a home away from home as all the children really looked authentic.
"Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so I am really pleased."
