LEAFLETS aimed at keeping the public updated about a multi- million pound redevelopment project for Kingston Mill have been circulated to residents in Bradford on Avon.
Gerald Milward-Oliver, chairman of the Bradford on Avon Development Trust, said the leaflet was distributed to shops, pubs and public buildings across the town, ahead of a meeting with developer Taylor Woodrow next week.
"It is simply a means of ensuring people understand where things stand as far as the work that has been done in trying to ensure we get a development on the Kingston Mill site that fits town expectations," he said.
"The leaflet is being sent through groups and societies around the town which will cover a large number of people."
Leaflets can also be found in the town hall, tourist information centre, Bradford library and St Margaret's Hall.
Mr Milward-Oliver said: "All we have done this time is just push the information out a bit further to people and expand on what we have done in the past.
"I wanted to pull together the strands of where we are now because Taylor Woodrow will be submitting an application in March."
Taylor Woodrow is on the verge of submitting its first planning application for a mix of housing, leisure and office space, although groups in the town have called for more retail and community space within the development.
Meetings between Taylor Woodrow, Bradford on Avon Town Council and other community groups have been held since last summer.
Jocelyn Feilding, chairman of the town council's planning committee, said talks with Taylor Woodrow were still ongoing.
"We are in the discussion process and that's not been completed yet," he said.
"We are having one more meeting this month but there has been no fixed date yet. There are quite a lot of things that have not been properly dealt with yet.
"The meeting was postponed last month because Taylor Woodrow did not feel they had enough for us to get our teeth into."
Taylor Woodrow planning manager Emma Jones said: "We are looking forward to presenting our plans for the Kingston Mill site to the people of Bradford on Avon at an upcoming exhibition on 17, 18 and 19 March.
"There is still a lot of detailed work to be done on the plans but we aim to work to the existing timetable."
