YOUNG speed demons in Trowbridge dug out their frying pans to take part in a Shrove Tuesday race.
Pupils at Wingfield Primary School turned out in force to negotiate the tricky course in the school's playground.
The whole school took part and headteacher Jo Miness said everyone involved had a great time.
She said: "Traditionally we do the race every two years as a celebration of Shrove Tuesday.
"We put the children into year groups and had a boy and girl winner for each year group. We had an assault course where the children had to zigzag through some cones.
The race was organised by the Friends of Wingfield School.
