A MOTORIST was shocked but unhurt after his car ploughed into a motorway barrier. The 47-year-old man from Walcot was in his Vauxhall Vectra close to junction 15 at 6.30am yesterday.

Police and fire crews found the car embedded into the central reservation.

The third lane of the westbound carriageway was sealed off for 20 minutes while the car was recovered.

Sgt Colin Conway, said the driver had a lucky escape.

"Fortunately he managed to walk away completely unhurt," he said. "The potential was there for a serious incident."
