IT'S said that love is in the air but, according to Royal Mail, love is in the post.
The company is delivering 12.5 million valentine cards today, an increasing number of which are sent to friends, family and even pets, as well as the traditional romantic card.
Although traditional favourites such as SWALK (sealed with a loving kiss) remain popular, texting and pop culture have brought in new acronyms.
The research, carried out with the company's postmen and women, has shown that the top five acronyms are:-
1 SWALK
2 ILU (I love you)
3 CIL (Crazy in love)
4 LYM (Love you madly)
5 ILY4E (I love you for ever)
