Ref. 75778-55A CHARITY curry night, involving 15 Indian restaurants in Swindon raised £5,000 for the British Red Cross.
Owners of many of the town's curry houses came together for the first time, on Tuesday, January 25, to support the charity which is working in tsunami-hit countries.
Pam James, of the British Red Cross, who helped out at the Saffron Spice in Peatmoor, said: "It was an absolutely brilliant effort. The regulars gathered up their friends and everybody had a great time.
"It was brilliant for all of them to take part and considering the short time they had to organise it, the result was absolutely brilliant."
