Wootton Bassett continue to challenge strongly for the Division 1 title in the Swindon & District Indoor League.

Their latest success came against relegation-threatened Nalgo when, chasing 106 to win, they were indebted to Steve Twine's 36 not out as they got home by two wickets with an over to spare.

In a clash at the other end of the table Asians proved 23 runs too good for Shrivenham.

In Division 2, Nalgo 2nd kept thier promotion hopes alive by thrashing Litten Tree by six wickets.

Having restricted Litten Tree to 120-4, Nalgo were never under any pressure, especially after reacing 50-0 after only three overs.

Although mathematically still needing a point from their remaining three fixtures, Wanborough are champions elect of this division.

They almost came unstuck against strugglers Winterbourne Bassett, but eventually scrambled home by one wicket and with only one ball remaining.

Winterbourne were dismissed for just 99, Nick Clarke with 31, and after cruising at 65-1 at the halfway stage Wanborough almost threw it away. Swindon 2nd are still relegation threatened after losing to Wroughton by 38 runs, despite Nathan Ile's 35.

The top two clashed in Division 3 and in a remarkable match Cirencester triumphed over New Generation by 25 runs. Cirencester batted first and looked dead and buried at 13-4 after four overs.

But Andy Cooper and Carl McQueen both posted 27 not out as Cirencester effected a mini recovery to close on 72-4.

New Generation fared even worse with the bat and they crashed to just 47 all out.

Nationwide resumed winning ways by defeating Nalgo 3rd by two wickets thanks almost entirely to Steve Lewis' unbeaten 42.
