CHIPPENHAM took a break from league action to thump Cooper Avon 55-0 in a friendly.
Nine tries were scored, the home side 12-0 to the good within 15 minutes as Keith Stokes and Scott Sherratt scored, Andy Williamson converting once.
Jon Angell added two more and wing Darren McMillan crossed.
Williamson added the conversion for a 29-0 half-time lead.
Sherratt and McMillan added their seconds after the break, Williamson with the extras twice.
Meanwhile the second team were also triumphant, in awful conditions at Bath's Old Sulians.
Playing into the wind in the first half, Chippenham opened the scoring when Matt Spurway linked with fly-half Dan Reynolds to touch down under the posts.
But Sulians went into a half-time lead, courtesy of two penalties.
Chippenham struggled to convert their pressure in the second half but Reynolds kicked two penalties of his own to reclaim the lead.
And eventually substitute Dave Burrow crashed over to seal it.
Chippenham 3rd were defeated 20-0 by Oldfield 2nds in Bath.
n WOOTTON Bassett's first reserves maintained their perfect record in the Bath & District Combination 2nd XV Merit Table with a 39-5 win over Avonvale.
Taff Lock scored two tries, Darren Lewis, Neil Smith and Andy Edge also crossing. Rhys Harries added four conversions and two penalties.
n CORSHAM'S second string fell 42-19 to a strong Walcot 3rd team on Saturday.
In a hastily arranged friendly, Corsham found themselves up against it in the first half as their hosts forged into a 35-0 lead, aided by a number of costly errors.
The visitors showed plenty of character in the second half and scrum-half Rich Cartwright led the way with the first try, converted by Steve Tye.
Centre Tom Sandell grabbed his first try, in his second game back from injury, again converted by Tye.
Corsham then lost skipper Andy Donald to the sin bin, for disputing Walcot's final try, but his side managed to further reduce the deficit when Donovan van Lill touched down.
